Performance Analysis Internship 2017 - Australian Rugby Union - St Leonards

Australian Rugby Union (ARU), the governing body of Rugby in Australia and home to the Qantas Wallabies and Qantas Sevens teams has an exciting opportunity for a Performance Analysis Intern.

Reporting to the ARU High Performance Analyst, the successful candidates will attain invaluable experience in the management, analysis and presentation of rugby performance information. This unique opportunity is for promising performance analysts to actively participate in a high-performance sport environment on a part-time basis - three days per week is desirable, dependent on individual schedule, including flexibility and reliability to support weekend fixtures and tasks at various parts of the year.

Key responsibilities and areas of learning will be:

  • Management and administration of ARU’s footage repository.
  • Analysis Administration using our analysis software, SportsCode (timelining, stacking, databasing).
  • Coding, analysis and reporting on Rugby (teams, players, referees) using Sportscode.
  • Producing quantitative reports using Excel.
  • Assisting during U20 and Wallabies camps in Sydney.
  • Administration of Analysis for national competitions, in particular - NRC 2017.
  • Innovation projects.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Post grad or final year undergraduate studying sports performance or sports science.
  • Excellent knowledge of Rugby Union essential.
  • High level of I.T. skills with Mac OS experience preferred.
  • Previous exposure to analysis systems desirable.
  • Camera experience desirable.
  • Creative, proactive, self-motivated individuals.
